Like any first time mother, she too is concerned about the air that her child will get to breathe. And she can be rest assured that the automobile industry would contribute its best.

Because we are doing our bit – India will be the first country in the world to leapfrog directly from BS-IV to BS-VI [Euro VI] vehicle emission norms.

The Indian Automobile Industry has come together to realign the whole automobile ecosystem – right from vehicle engineering and designing to myriad of systems and parts that go into the vehicles. Our aim is to leapfrog to BS-VI emission norms at par with Euro VI of Europe within a short period of 3 years by 2020 – the fastest progression in the world. In addition, by encouraging faster adoption of electric and hybrid vehicles, we are targeting to cut down CO2 emissions by 20,000 tonnes per year. All these, just because we’re trying to do our bit in giving the kids of India the same quality of environment like that of Europe.

By 2026, Indian automobile industry will be one of the largest in the world, employing close to 100 million people and contributing to more than 12% of the nation’s GDP!
